NML New Life Skills Training Centre

The 35 acre farm at Bootless Bay, which accommodated up to 100 young men, is about 20km from the city.  The farm has been developed as an Agricultural/Vocational School for anyone willing to work and dedicat their lives to a better future.  Young men who come into the Mission are first sent to the Farm. There they are counseled and assisted in overcoming any addictions to drugs, cigarettes and alcohol.  The young men also receive training in subjects such as agriculture, welding, carpentry, and livestock.

In addition to Vocational training other classes’ covers topics such as literacy, grievance procedures, hygiene, personal property care, respect for authority, conflict resolution, life skills, Christian training and HIV/Aids.

The NML New Life Skills Training Centre has been sponsored Newcrest Mining Limited of PNG. With their generous donation and sponsorship we have granted them the rights to the naming of the training centre. City Mission PNG appreicates all of its sponsors in helping to better all the live the mission touches.
