In 2007 City Mission was given the opportunity to purchase "Buablung Haus" from the Anglican Church. This is a 96 room, single bed hostel close to the Lae town centre.

This has now become our main town centre Administrative Office and employs 18 PNG staff. We also accommodate up to 70 young men that have come through our Mission program and have now been assisted in locating permanent employment in the city. The centre is supervised by a Manager/Pastor who continues to provide for the spiritual needs of the working boys at night and on weekends.

Buablung is also the recruiting area for many young men coming into the Mission program. Each Tuesday morning there are usually between 20-50 young men that turn up seeking admittance into the Mission program.

Because of space limitations many are turned away and told to try again the next week We do try and accept the most needy cases immediately, especially if they have no family or relatives in the Lae area. As we are in a partnership arrangement with Anglicare Stop AIDS, space is also allocated at Buablung Haus for their office area. In addition, rooms are also let out to city workers at a reasonable rental rate and this generates some income for the Mission.
