With the success of the City Mission in Port Moresby and the increasing lawlessness in Lae, it was only natural that the City Mission saw the need to expand its operations to Lae.

In May 2005, the Mission took over a three storey, 96 room hosted in Cassowary Road, Lae. This Hostel, apart from providing training and accommodation for young men who have been rejected or come from broken homes, provides the only single male accommodation for workers in Lae.

The Lae City Mission is also active in supporting the many street kids who come from difficult situations within the city. The Lae City Mission is a new endeavor and will require the support of the Business Community if it is to successfully reach out to the city’s troubled youth.
